Yesterday was the girls first day of school and it was hot in more ways than one. The temperature got up near 100 (with Summer's middle school having no air conditioning I hear that was not pleasant!) and we had a huge fire on the mountains just east of our house. It has consumed more than 600 acres and threatened the houses along the foothills. A few of the girls friends were evacuated from their homes but luckily they were able to contain the fire. This morning it is still burning but mostly at the very top of the mountain. We had quite a view from our front porch, especially last night when you could see the flames in the dark.

it was hot! ha and the fire was pretty scary, my house still smells like smoke. haha
how scary to have a fire so close! im glad the girls friends are ok what a way to start school 100 degrees?
