Labor Day Weekend

Andy and I came back from NY to find a nice surprise- a clean house and Amber home for the weekend! The girls were so awesome to take care of everything at home for us while we were gone. Amber came home almost every night to sleep over and then drove to school the next day. How did I get so lucky to have such great kids!!

Drew took this picture in our back yard - I thought he did a great job!

Yeah Yeah I know, It's been forever...

Obviously I'm not very good at this blogging business. So I'm just going to post a few pictures to let you all know we are alive.

News since my last post:

We had a great 2 whole months of summer! No more year round school for Drew--Yipee!

My little girl grew up and moved out :( -- Luckily only 30 min away

School (college, high school, and elementary!) has started again and life is back to somewhat normal.

Woodpecker

Drew is still in school. Last week his teacher sends a note home..."Our students have been working hard on their plays. You are invited to come watch this Friday at bla bla. Please send a costume with your child for the dress rehearsal tommorrow. It can just be a simple costume from supplies you have at home. Your child is a... WOODPECKER.

Ok wait a minute... They have been working on this play for quite some time and we find out the night before we need a costume! I don't know about you, but I don't have woodpecker "supplies" at home! Needless to say, I was a little ticked. But with a quick trip to the craft store we were able to come up with a costume. It turned out pretty cute even if he did look more like a chicken.

It was a cute play and Drew did great.

Father's Day Weekend

When I asked Andy what he wanted for Father's Day he said "I just want to golf". So we took off out of the rain and headed to St George. We just stayed the weekend but had such a great time. Andy golfed with his friend Shane and the kids and I hung out at the pool. We also hooked up with Treena and the kids and went to Sand Hollow for one afternoon. It was fun but extremely windy as you can see by the pictures.

It was such a perfect weekend. The kids got along SO great. I just sat back at the pool and watched them laugh and have a great time. It was one of those kodak moments that you wish would last forever.

So to summarize:
Happy Dad + Happy Mom + Happy Children = one great mini vacation!

Amber's Senior Pics and Graduation (sniff sniff)

Here are just some of the awesome pictures taken by our friend Ali Evenson. We think they turned out beautiful (but we may be biased)

Today was graduation day...how did the years go by so fast? Thanks to mom and dad for coming and sitting through a LOOONNGG ceremony (800 graduates!)

Our Trip to Arizona

Drew and I went to Arizona for a few days to have some fun with Grandma and Grandpa Dobson. We went for hikes and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
On our hike Drew saw what he thought was a toy frog, so he poked it with his finger. It moved and he jumped about a mile! It was actually this cute, fat horned toad which grandpa of course put in his pocket to take home.

We went into the big town of Globe one day to see the sights (and so Drew could have his McDonald's fix!).
But the highlight of the trip for Drew was learning to drive the 4-wheeler all by himself and then taking everyone for rides around and around the yard. He would have done it all night if his arms didn't get so tired.
Thanks mom and dad for pampering us and making our trip so fun!!

So obviously I am not a very consistent blogger (a lot of relatives reminded me of that when we were together for Karleigh's wedding!). The problem is there just isn't a lot going on around the Osborn household. When your kids are older there aren't as many cute little stories to share (even if they were little it would be hard to top Madi's sanitary napkin story!). I could bore you with my daily carpool duties or the fact that I am the meanest mom because I want an unnamed teenager to tend her brother, but I won't. So for now, know that we are happy, and healthy just going through the routine of daily life.

Here are a few events since my last post:

Played with Grandpa and Grandma Dobson and built an awesome snow cave!

Karleigh's Wedding: It was so classy! She looked absolutely beautiful! It was fun to see my siblings and other family members that we haven't seen for a while.

Photo Shoot

Last weekend I took the kids for a drive to find somewhere to take some photos. We ended up at La Caille because they have pretty scenery and some cool old buildings. We wanted to surprise Andy with some new photos for his birthday. It was so freezing, our noses were red in most of the pictures. I am definitely not a professional
(I should have called Karleigh!) but we got a few good ones.

Christmas parties

Every year our neighborhood has an outdoor Christmas party. We donate items or money to the food bank in lieu of neighbor gifts. They always have a bunch of fire pits and we have hot chocolate and roast marshmallows for s'mores. Each year Santa arrives in a new way. He has been on a tractor, horse and fire engine. This year he marched in with the Alta High School Drum line. It was awesome!

This year, Andy's work party was at a restaurant called La Caille. It is always fun to get dressed up, have a nice dinner, and see our friends who come in from California.

Drew's Surgery

Drew had to have his tonsils and adenoids removed yesterday .
As you can see he was a pretty good sport about it.

He liked riding in the wagon to surgery.
After, he wasn't quite so smiley. But he was so brave and did great. The doctor said everything went well and that his adenoids were "huge". We had them removed because he has trouble breathing and seems to have a little sleep apnea at night. Hopefully this will help.

In the recovery room.
It took him forever to wake up. Then we took him home and he was pretty much unconscious the whole day. Poor little guy.
He is pretty sore today but has been getting fluids down and is being such a sweetheart. It is so strange to not have him running around the house and talking up a storm. He actually wants to sit still and lets me cuddle him. If he wasn't in pain, I would really be enjoying this!

Catching UP

We're Back! Time to catch up on the last couple months. First: Halloween

Drew was a werewolf, Amber was a kitty, and Summer was a dragon (but you will have to take my word for the last one because I didn't get a picture of her- what a LOSER mom!)

Thanksgiving was so great. It is always nice to see family again. Tami was even able to get her entire family together. My kids loved seeing their cousins (even some new babies they had never seen before)

Baby Ben

& Baby Chloe

Pigging out on Pie!

Love those big brown eyes! Drew & Dylan

The Newly engaged couple! Karleigh and Jake

We are lucky to live close to both our families, so on the way home we stopped by the Osborns and visited them too!
